This 8-core floating cable is an ROV tether. It is neutrally buoyant with a breaking strength of 300kg and incorporates water-blocking fibres to seal any leak. The core contains Kevlar yarns for strength and polyester yarns as space fillers. Both fibre types are impregnated with a water-blocking compound so that a nick or crack in the cable does not cause a leak.
The high-visibility orange polyurethane jacket resists abrasion and provides neutral buoyancy. The cable stiffness is designed to be flexible enough to give your ROV adequate freedom of movement, yet stiff enough not to kink easily.
